One of CCA's greatest strengths is its ability to convene various types of international, non-profit and consulting organizations working in Africa to assist the private sector in developing a unified and effective response to HIV/AIDS.
Why partnerships?

In order to provide CCA members with the tools and strategies necessary to develop and implement effective HIV/AIDS workplace programs, the HIV/AIDS Initiative seeks to partner with technical assistance providers, international donor organizations and resource dissemination providers. These organizations have the expertise and resources to effectively address the needs of CCA members.
The Initiative is currently working with the following types of organizations and is continually looking for partners with the capacity to support the private sector response to HIV/AIDS in Africa.
Who are the partners?
- Funders
One of the roles of international donor organizations, including USAID, the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief in Africa (PEPFAR), the World Bank Multi-Country HIV/AIDS Program (MAP) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is to provide financing for government, community and private sector-led initiatives focused on HIV/AIDS.
Each donor partner operates in a variety of countries and has its own eligibility criteria, application process and monitoring and evaluation indicators for financing opportunities. Private sector companies often have limited knowledge about the application process or do not realize that they can apply for funds through these agencies. CCA works to inform its members of the existing funding opportunities; to facilitate discussions between company and donor; and to provide assistance to members in the application process.

- Technical Assistance Providers
Technical assistance providers are domestic and international organizations that provide technical support and guidance to the government, the community and the private sector on the development and implementation of HIV/AIDS education programs, HIV workplace policies, Voluntary Counseling and Testing (VCT) centers and treatment facilities. These organizations work on the ground in Africa and in other developing countries and have the experience, knowledge and tools to effectively develop programs for the private sector.
The CCA HIV/AIDS Initiative has formed partnerships with many technical assistance providers including the Futures Group, Family Health International, PSI, JSI, AED and others. CCA works with corporate members to assess their technical assistance needs and then matches that member with the organization that best fits those needs. The organization and the company then work together directly to develop HIV/AIDS workplace programs in whatever capacity needed.

- Resource Dissemination Providers
Many companies understand the importance of engaging in the fight against HIV/AIDS. However, information and resources for companies seeking to develop and implement programs are not always easily accessible. Resource dissemination providers play a key role in bridging this information gap by using their expertise and far-reaching networks to effectively distribute information and resources to the largest possible number of people.
CCA is working closely with AllAfrica Global Media and its new initiative, HealthAfrica.org, to compile, index and disseminate an extensive database of resources through the AllAfrica website. (Access the CCA/AllAfrica resource database directly from the HealthAfrica Database page) These resources, all located in one central location on the web, include best practice cases for the private sector; general HIV/AIDS prevention education information; industry-specific and country-specific toolkits and guides; resources regarding treatment and VCT; and contact information for donors and technical assistance providers.
