U.S. - Africa Private Sector Health Conference

Dates: 10/4/2010 -- 10/6/2010
Venue(s): Grand Hyatt (Washington, DC)
1000 H Street, NW
Washington DC

Description:

This year’s conference, which is themed “Integrating Business Solutions for Expanding Access,” distinguishes itself as the premier business development forum to address the role of the U.S. and African private sectors in strengthening health systems in Africa through commercial ventures, public-private partnerships and other investment vehicles.

The health conference builds from CCA’s 2008 U.S.-Africa Private Sector Health Forum and will provide opportunities to network with leaders from the African and U.S. private health sectors, along with representatives from government, academia, multilateral institutions, and NGOs working in health across the continent. Participants will discuss private sector new business opportunities, innovations, and solutions to meet Africa’s priority health needs.

Plenary sessions will focus on critical public health priorities and challenges in Africa. Complementary workshops will highlight opportunities for the private sector to improve the quality of health care delivery and services; expand access to care to rural populations; increase systems efficiency and performance through information technology and market-based approaches; identify opportunities for sustainable financing; and many others.

In advance of the conference, visit the CCA website at africacncl.org for regular program updates and to register. For more information, contact CCA Health Initiative Program Managers Elizabeth Bachini or Emmanuel Nouga at (202) 835-1115 or cca@africacncl.org
