Applied Information Technology Forum
on HIV/AIDS and Healthcare Delivery
Development Gateway Offices, March 9, 2005

The CCA HIV/AIDS Initiative, in collaboration with VOXIVA, BroadReach Healthcare, Development Gateway Foundation and Bridges.org, invites you to participate in a meeting of CCA members, our partners and invited guests representing the communications and the digital and information technology industries to discuss the creation of new markets, the expansion of current markets, and innovative applications for existing technologies for healthcare delivery in Africa.

The one-day meeting will take place on March, 9, 2005 from 8:00 am – 5:30 pm at the Development Gateway Foundation offices (1889 F Street, NW 2nd Floor Washington, DC 20006)

The application of a variety of advanced technological approaches from hand-held devices to wireless internet access may be applicable to resolving barriers such as access to medical assistance, monitoring of treatment, treatment distribution and patient uptake, and communication flows to and from field based clinics to central medical facilities.

This meeting will bring CCA members and partners together to present members with the issues, obstacles and opportunities in developing and marketing these types of products and services to fulfill the need for virtual healthcare infrastructure in Africa. It will provide participants with the opportunity to learn about potential innovative uses for technology by sub-sector; share ideas, experiences and resources; and meet partners that can assist in the development and implementation of new solutions.

Key CCA members invited to discuss the development of these potential markets and applications will include:
