The Corporate Council on Africa (CCA), established in 1992 and based in Washington, D.C., is the leading United States private sector non-profit organization dedicated to strengthening and facilitating commercial relationships between the U.S. and Africa. CCA’s membership includes 161 companies doing business in Africa, representing nearly 85 percent of all U.S. private investment in the continent. CCA works closely with governments, multilateral groups and businesses to improve the African trade and investment climate and to raise the profile of Africa in the U.S. business community. Since its creation, CCA has enjoyed close working relationships with U.S. government agencies, including the Department of Agriculture, Department of Commerce, Department of Energy, Department of State, U.S. Trade Representative (USTR) and the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) as well as the U.S. Export-Import Bank, and U.S. and African embassies.
