· In 2000 Wilson Hunt International established Garment Express, a joint venture factory in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia to manufacture athletic uniforms and apparel. Garment Express was the first factory in Ethiopia to take advantage of the Africa Growth and Opportunity Act.
· In May 2001, U.S. Secretary of the Treasury Paul O’Neal and Bono of the musical group U2 visited the Garment Express factory on their fact finding tour of Africa and pronounced it “a good example of the benefits that trade and investment can bring to Africa”.
