Mr Odirile Merafhe is the Chief Executive Officer of the Hospitality and Tourism Association of Botswana (HATAB). HATB is the premier private sector representative body for most tourism related businesses in Botswana. Its primary function is to lobby Government and other key stakeholders, to ensure an enabling environment for tourism businesses to thrive and prosper. HATAB also works hand in hand with the Government’s department of Tourism and its numbers to sell and market Botswana and member companies.
After completing his studies, he worked for Air Botswana, the national airline of Botswana, for a period of ten years where he held various middle and senior management positions. Before leaving Air Botswana he had risen to the position of Marketing Manager responsible for pricing, scheduling, marketing and public relations. He then joined South African Express Airways as Executive Manager Commercial responsible for marketing, public relations, station operations catering, pricing, scheduling and the tour operations division of the airline.
Odirile joined HATAB as Chief Executive Officer in July 2002.
