| Ms. Katie Kampmann is the Program Officer for Africa at the Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE), where she manages a portfolio of grants and programs implemented throughout sub-Saharan Africa. Prior to joining CIPE in 2000, Ms. Kampmann managed food security programs for the USAID-funded FEWS program (Famine Early Warning System). In this capacity she applied her technical background as an agricultural economist, providing complex data analyses of food markets, establishing food market information systems, and assessing food aid programs. She has extensive experience throughout Africa, including long-term assignments in Mali, Morocco and Mauritania. She began her international career as a Peace Corps volunteer in Togo, training women and children in vegetable growing and drying techniques. Ms. Kampmann holds a Master of Science degree in Agriculture Economics from Michigan State University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations from the University of California at Davis. |
