Tunde Onitiri is an Assistant Director with Emerging Markets Partnership, where he is responsible for identifying and reviewing private equity investment opportunities in Africa for the AIG African Infrastructure Fund. Prior to joining EMP in 2001, Mr. Onitiri spent five years at InterGen, a Bechtel/Shell joint venture that develops and operates independent power projects (IPPs) worldwide. At InterGen, he structured and executed project financings for IPPs, initially in Latin America, and later in Central Europe. Before joining InterGen, he spent three years as a project finance banker at Sanwa Bank in New York, where he evaluated and executed senior debt investments in the telecommunications, mining and power sectors in the US and Latin America.
Mr. Onitiri holds a joint M.B.A. from the Wharton School and M.A. in International Affairs (with a focus on East Asia/Japanese) from the Lauder Institute of the University of Pennsylvania. He also holds an M.S. in Electrical Engineering from Columbia University and a B.A. degree in Engineering Science and Economics
