| Description |
Biotechnology has played an integral part in increasing food production throughout the world. It has the potential to provide solutions to the hunger, poverty, malnutrition and disease that plague a large part of the African continent. The purpose of this workshop entitled "Is Biotechnology an answer to Africa's Hunger Challenge?" is to discuss the current development and use of biotechnology in the war against hunger and poverty throughout Africa. We will also discuss the advantages of further development of biotechnology on the continent, as well as the risks that biotechnology brings.
