Louis Berger-Supported National Roads Authority wins Award 

Lilongwe, Malawi - January 22, 2001 -- The Louis Berger Group, Inc, is pleased to announce that Malawi's National Road Authority (NRA), supported by a Berger technical assistance team for two years, received a 2000 "Meritious Public Service Award" for its response to the demand for improved roadways throughout the country, from a committee formed by a local newspaper, The Malawi News.

Berger guided the development of the NRA and assisted in the recruitment and training of staff in providing maintenance to the rapidly deteriorating, Malawian roadways. This assistance is funded by the European Development Fund.

The award was published in The Malawi News on January 6, 2001, and given to NRA's Chief Executive Dauphin E. Makako, in Lilongwe.
