Anadarko Appoints Four VP's to Manage Algerian Operations
HOUSTON May 21, 2001 - Anadarko Algeria Company, LLC (AAC), a subsidiary of Anadarko Petroleum Corporation, announced today the appointments of four people to vice president to manage the company's rapidly expanding Algeria operations. The new vice presidents will oversee the operations, finance, legal and human resources divisions and will be headquartered in Uxbridge, England.
"These four appointments at Anadarko Algeria Company demonstrate our commitment to grow our Algerian production and to develop our workforce here in the U.K. and Algeria," said Don MacLiver, Anadarko Algeria Company President. "These individuals have been an integral part of this venture from the beginning, and now they are positioned to lead AAC as we expand our presence in Algeria."
Anadarko and its partners, SONATRACH, LASMO and Maersk, are currently constructing two production facilities in Algeria that will increase gross production capacity from approximately 75,000 barrels a day currently to more than 500,000 barrels a day in 2003 from discoveries in the Sahara Desert of East Central Algeria.
In March 2001, Anadarko and its partners signed an amendment to their Production Sharing Agreement with SONATRACH, the national oil company of Algeria, that will enable the Anadarko/Sonatrach Association to resume exploration of Blocks 404, 208 and 211.
Andy Harris is named to Vice President, Operations, for AAC. Harris has responsibility for AAC interests in Groupement Berkine, a company co-managed by Anadarko and Sonatrach that oversees all aspects of development and operation for 11 oilfields in the Berkine basin. Harris joined Anadarko Petroleum Corporation in 1994 as engineering manager for the Algeria project and transferred to the U.K. with the original team when the Uxbridge office was opened. Harris brings 26 years of industry experience and a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Southwest Louisiana to the position.
As Vice President, Finance, Alan Gibbons will manage all finance and accounting functions in the U.K. and Algeria. Gibbons joined AAC in October 1999 as a manager. He has 20 years of industry experience and holds a bachelor of accountancy degree with honors from Glasgow University. He is a fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants.
Kevin McGrory will serve as Vice President, Legal and Negotiations. He joined AAC in February 1997 as legal manager and regional counsel. McGrory is responsible for all legal and negotiating functions for Anadarko in the U.K. and North Africa. He has been an attorney for 19 years, 13 of which are in the oil and gas industry. He holds a bachelor of laws degree from Dundee University and postgraduate diplomas in legal practice and petroleum law.
As Vice President, Human Resources, Marianne Dunn is responsible for the human resources functions in the U.K. and North Africa. Dunn joined Anadarko Petroleum Corporation in 1989 as manager, international employee relations. Dunn transferred to the position of manager, human resources for AAC with the original team. She has 23 years of industry experience and holds a bachelor of science degree with honors from Colorado State University.
