October 1, 2000: CCA Publishes a Comprehensive Guide to Doing Business with Africa

The Corporate Council on Africa (CCA) is pleased to announce the release of its latest publication, Doing Business in Africa 2000/1. Published with Business Books International, the guide is the first comprehensive handbook to doing business with the African continent made available to the general public. Designed to serve the requirements of business executives, the primer is also set to meet the needs of libraries, teachers, students and everyone else in need of a reliable well-illustrated guide to the African continent. Doing Business with Africa contains concise but comprehensive historical, statistical, political and economic data on Africa and all its 53 countries, supplemented by more than a hundred color maps, graphs and tables.

Doing Business with Africa has won praise throughout the U.S. business community. HSBC Equator Bank CEO Franklin Kennedy asserted that the guide "is essential reading for any U.S. corporation or entrepreneur who has not yet focused on Africa." Frank Savage, Chairman of Alliance Capital Management International, held that the book "aimed at both beginners and old Africa hands, is a timely tool right at the beginning of what might well be Africa's millennium." Ambassador Andrew Young, Chairman of GoodWorks International, affirmed that "this premier business publication highlights the many factors that make the continent conducive to all aspects of business and trade with the wider world…"

Doing Business with Africa will be on sale most Barnes & Noble bookstores around the country, and in selected Canadian chains, at a price of $29.95. Orders can be made directly to Business Books International or the Corporate Council on Africa.

The Corporate Council on Africa also recently released South Africa: A Country Profile for U.S. Businesses, the latest in its series of country-specific in-depth African investment guides. Earlier this year, CCA produced Country Profiles for Nigeria and Algeria.
