"Private Health Care in Developing Countries" Resource Library
In November 2008, Dominic Montagu and Raakhi Mohan launched the website “Private Healthcare in Developing Countries” as a forum to discuss the growing opportunities of the private sector healthcare in developing countries. An unbiased resource library, the site provides a wealth of information on key players and projects in the sector, and encourages visitors to share their experiences. Currently, the discussion topics concentrate on two themes: Service Delivery and Disease.
Within each section, users will find in-depth coverage of the issues at hand, as well as ongoing approaches to leveraging the private sector in developing countries. Additionally, the authors offer a bi-monthly, two-page e-newsletter to keep subscribers updated on the latest trends and publications relating to private sector healthcare. All funding for the site comes from the Nepheli Foundation, and The Global Health Group at UCSF provides technical support.
For a copy of the March 2009 edition of the "Private Healthcare in Developing Countries" newsletter, please see the HIV/AIDS & Health Initiative's reports and publications resource page.
