Full Time Positions
Communications Coordinator
This is a full time permanent position that will report to CCA's President. The responsibilities of the Communications Coordinator include (but are not limited to):
- Write, edit, and coordinate the publication of CCA's newsletter BusinessLink Africa.
- Attend and cover CCA events (conferences, workshops, Head of State dinners, etc.)
- Coordinate CCA's media outreach activities. This includes writing press releases, preparing press packets, and interacting with print and broadcast media representatives. In particular, the Communications Coordinator will play an integral role in developing and implementing the media strategy for the Attracting Capital to Africa Summit planned for September 2001 in Philadelphia. Additionally, the Communications Coordinator will arrange interviews for senior staff with the print and broadcast media to market CCA.
- Maintain media contact database.
- Maintain and update CCA's Web site.
The secondary responsibilities of the Communications Coordinator include:
- Assist in the management of CCA's Access database.
- Provide graphic design and layout support for in-house publications.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in communications or public relations and four years experience working in a public relations or media position.
- Excellent written and oral communications skills with significant experience writing press releases, newsletters, and graphic design.
- Proven experience interacting with representatives of the print and broadcast media.
- Demonstrated experience designing and maintaining Web sites.
- Knowledge and interest in international affairs, particularly African affairs.
- Computer skills required: Windows, MS Office, MS Access, HTML, PageMaker.

Internships
CCA accepts applications for internships throughout the year. Interns conduct research and gather information on African policy issues. They play an integral role in planning for our Trade and Outreach Missions, Meetings Programs, Working Group Meetings, and Doing Business in Africa workshops.
